Displaying the tools and equipment used in the asylum, the Volterra museum strives to educate on the history of the infamous hospital.

Within the collection is the profoundly intriguing artwork of former patient Nanof, or NOF4. Using the buckle on his jacket, he carved stories and images into 180 meters of an outer wall of the asylum, discussing philosophy, the elements, alchemy, and a world he was barred from exploring.
